After the Capespan Groups conclusion of a long-term marketing and management agreement with the National Youth Service to manage the Namibia Grape Company the responsible parties, both Namibia Grape Company Board and Capespan Namibia established the Namibia Grape Company Social Development Trust. The primary objectives and mandate of the trust are to uplift the living conditions and to benefit the employees of the Namibia Grape Company as well as the surrounding community in the Aussenkehr area.
The parties mentioned also commit themselves to arrange additional funding from stakeholders and partners for the social development projects in Aussenkehr directed to benefit the people of Aussenkehr.
The NGC Social Development Trust has been formally established in 2009.
We always consider the current socio economic and developmental challenges we face as a Namibian nation and then the trust focusses on the immediate needs of the people of the Aussenkehr, Kharas area to establish which projects are immediately achievable with the available resources.
We are aware that the progressive increase in the number of people residing in Aussenkehr over the years will continue to put pressure on the infrastructure and resources that are available. It is clear that in order to maintain the momentum of development in this settlement area of Aussenkehr, a pro-active approach by the private sector and farmers in assisting government with the enormous task, is required.
The NGC Social Development Trust is committed to head to this requirement and improve quality of life for people living and working in the areas related to the Namibia Grape Company Farm and Capespan Namibia.
